Introducing: New Peer Tutor!

     Hello, my name is Tiarra Stevenson. I am the newest addition to WCCS Writing Center. I never pictured myself tutoring anyone. Writing for me comes easily, thanks to my Creative Writing course I took my senior year of high school. My first encounter with WCCS Writing Center was the fall semester of 2012. My English instructor advised students to come to to the Writing Center if we needed help with our assignments. I enjoyed the Writing Center after my first visit, and I became a regular visitor. Now, I  have the opportunity to help students with their papers one thought at a time.

     Here in the Writing Center, we help students achieve their goals of becoming better writers. Together we can brainstorm, revise, and help you write your paper. You want to know what makes writing so UNIQUE? It's your own THOUGHTS and IDEAS on paper. Hope to see you soon in the Writing Center.

It's that time again!!!

It's that time of the year again...where everyone has settled into the semester and all of those writing and speech assignments are being assigned on a regular basis. So come on down to the Writing Center and let us assist you with that assignment.

Express Yourself by Writing

Many people do not like to write. Think of writing as a form of communication and you have something to say. Express yourself by writing.

Mindset

Do you like writing? If the answer is no, then don't think of it as writing. Do you like texting? I bet that answer is yes. Texting is still writing. So don't think of it as a dreadful thing. Adjust your mindset. Enjoy it, embrace it, own it! ~ Melissa

Writing !

Writing is something everyone does daily; however, we might not realize that we are writing.  Reports that you have done for work, emails sent, and even text messages are all forms of writing; they may not be in the essay format that is required by college instructors, but you have been writing the majority of your life.  All that is required is for you to apply what you have been doing into the format that your instructor requires.  If you are having trouble, the writing center is here to help you learn to become a better writer.  You know that technology fee that you pay; some of that money goes into the writing center and allows us to have resources available to help you with your writing assignments.  You are paying for it, why not use it?  -Robert

piece of his writing experience. He is also a regular user of the Writing Center and a firm believer that everyone can write better with support. His laidback, cheerful personality will help people feel comfortable as they work together on their writing assignments.

  

 

Thinking

Writing is based on thoughts. Thoughts are made by thinking. Thinking comes from think. To think is to make a choice. It is also the ability to form ideas. Believe in yourself to write using your thoughts that are made by thinking.

Writing!  What is writing?  Writing can be defined in so many ways.  It is a form of communication.  It can be an expression of thoughts and ideas.  What is writing to you?
